To meet Sustainable Development Goals , 260 institutes to offer courses in climate change

The Indian home ministry has established a network of 260 universities and colleges to offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD courses in climate change and disaster risk reduction (DRR). The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) will award five fully funded PhD projects and provide grants for small research projects. The initiative is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 10-point agenda for DRR and aims to reduce disaster deaths and economic losses by 2030. The network of universities is the first of its kind in India to include DRR in undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
