Pitch invader with ‘Free Palestine’ message interrupts match in Ahmedabad

During the World Cup final between India and Australia, a pitch invader breached security and attempted to hug Virat Kohli while he was batting. The man, wearing a red shorts and white T-shirt with messages supporting Palestine, managed to elude multiple layers of security before being apprehended. Identified as Wen Johnson, an Australian citizen of Chinese-Filipino origin, he has a history of pitch invasions as a TikTok prankster. This is the second incident of pitch invasion during a match between India and Australia in the tournament. Johnson has been charged with causing hurt and criminal trespassing.
