Toyota set to invest Rs 3.3k cr for new unit near B’luru
Wednesday, 22 November 2023 Japanese carmaker Toyota is investing Rs 3,300 crore in a new factory in India, bringing its total investments in the country to nearly Rs 20,000 crore. The factory, located in Karnataka, will add one lakh units to Toyota's production capacity by 2026. Other automakers, including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Tata Motors, are also investing in India to boost their capacities. Toyota has been struggling to meet demand in the market, and the new plant will help address this issue. So far, Toyota has invested Rs 16,000 crore in India over the past 25 years.
