India hosts landmark regional conference on legal aid and technology
Monday, 27 November 2023 The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and its partners, the International Legal Foundation (ILF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), hosted the first-ever regional conference on "Access to Legal Aid- Strengthening Access to Justice in the Global South". The event focused on leveraging technology to improve legal systems, with Amitabh Kan highlighting the transformative power of technology.
On Saturday, the United States government announced plans to organise a charter flight for its citizens stranded in Haiti amidst escalating gang violence gripping the nation. Simultaneously, Guatemala reported that the offices of its honorary consul in Haiti were looted amid the ongoing clashes.
