33 flights diverted from Chennai to Bengaluru due to cyclone Michaung impact
Monday, 4 December 2023 Officials from Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), which manages KIA, reported the diversion of both domestic and international flights, including those operated by Indigo, SpiceJet, Etihad, Lufthansa, and Gulf Air, from Chennai. Many flights in Chennai have been canceled due to the ongoing situation.
Five rain-related deaths were reported from Chennai on Monday, with cyclone βMichaungβ expected to make landfall on the coast of Andhra Pradesh in the next 24 hours. Schools and offices were closed, flights halted and coastal areas evacuated.
