Judges' appointment case not listed despite judicial order

The hearing on delay in appointment of high court judges by the Centre took a curious turn when it was not listed despite judicial order. The bench denied knowledge of the reason. Advocate raised the issue and Justice Kaul said he was not aware why it was deleted. Advocate Bhushan expressed surprise and termed the deletion of the case "very unusual." The bench had previously criticized the Centre's pick and choose policy in clearing the names recommended by its collegium.
