Telangana: Congress stares at fund hurdle to implement 6 guarantees

Congress party's six guarantees and welfare schemes, BRS, and their poll promises face hurdles in fulfillment. The promises include a 2 lakh loan waiver to farmers, free travel for women in RTC buses, financial assistance to women, 16,000 per acre under Rythu Bharosa, supply of gas cylinders at 500, and free power up to 200 units. Implementing these schemes would require a yearly expenditure of 1.2 lakh crore, in addition to the existing budget. The state government may have to resort to more borrowing, as it has already reached its fiscal limits.
