Maharashtra senior bureaucrat's son, two aides held for attempt to mow down woman

Ashwajit Gaikwad, youngest son of a senior bureaucrat, and aides Romil Patil and Sagar Shedge were arrested for assaulting and trying to mow down a beautician and social media influencer outside a hotel at Thane's Ghodbunder road. Police seized the two SUVs used in the crime. Gaikwad, who runs a chain of restaurants and is related to a senior sitting MP, is also part of a political party's youth wing. The victim, Priya Singh, accused Gaikwad of assaulting her and trying to extort money.
