Madhya Pradesh: ‘Samaritans’ who forcibly took judge’s car get bail

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 19 December 2023
The Madhya Pradesh high court granted bail to two college students who were arrested by Gwalior police for allegedly 'snatching' a judge's car to save the life of a private university vice-chancellor. CM Mohan Yadav and former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan supported the students, highlighting their 'altruistic intention'. The students, Himanshu Shrotri and Sukrit Sharma, both ABVP leaders, were in jail since December 12. The high court approved their bail plea, reflecting sensitivity towards the situation. The incident occurred when Professor Ranjit Singh Yadav suffered a heart attack on a train, and the students allegedly took the judge's car to transport him to a hospital.
