Darjeeling zoo to get India's 1st high-altitude aquarium

The Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park in Darjeeling is set to get the first high-altitude single-end aquarium in India. The new aquarium will house larger species of ornamental fishes. The existing reptile house will be converted into a single-end aquarium. The reptile house, which currently has a small tank for common fishes, has been closed for visitors during winter due to reptiles' hibernation. Meanwhile, a pair of Siberian tigers will be on display at the zoo from January 10.
