'Captain' Vijayakant laid to rest with full state honours

DMDK founder Vijayakant's burial site at the party headquarters in Koyambedu will have a memorial and an eternal flame, according to his wife and party general secretary Premalatha. Vijayakant's body was taken in a 12km procession on Poonamallee High Road before being laid to rest with full state honors. Thousands of party cadres and fans gathered along the procession route to pay their respects. Premalatha expressed gratitude to the Tamil Nadu government for the arrangements and announced plans for the memorial with an eternal flame.
