85-yr-old & former banker get 2-yr RI for duping bank in 2000

An 85-year-old director of a private company and a 77-year-old dismissed State Bank of India chief manager were convicted to two years of rigorous imprisonment for cheating the bank of Rs 57 lakh in 2000. The trial lasted for 18 years and the case was registered in 2002. The special judge found them guilty of offences related to cheating and criminal conspiracy. In a similar case in 2017, they were sentenced to five years in jail. The judge also found the former banker guilty under the Prevention of Corruption Act for the transfer of funds to other accounts.
