Ankit Saxena, a photographer, was killed by Shehzadi's family due to their disapproval of their cross-faith relationship. Ankit had asked his friend to take Shehzadi to a police station before his throat was slit. Shehzadi's family discovered that she had been lying about not meeting Ankit and confronted her. Ankit refused to reveal Shehzadi's location to her family and instructed his friend to take her to safety. The murder caused tension in the area, and Shehzadi's family has been convicted after six years.
