Court denies ED nod to quiz its officer held in TN

IndiaTimes Friday, 12 January 2024
Dindigul chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court Friday dismissed Enforcement Directorate's plea seeking permission to interrogate its officer Ankit Tiwari, who was arrested by Tamil Nadu's Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) on the charge of taking bribe from a doctor. CJM J Mohana passed the order after taking into account the objections raised by DVAC that ED had not given a strong reason to inquire Tiwari. The petition filed by ED's assistant director Raja Ram Meena stated that DVAC sleuths had arrested Tiwari based on a complaint by Dr T Suresh Babu.
