FASTags with incomplete KYC to be blacklisted after January 31

IndiaTimes Monday, 15 January 2024
NHAI warns that all incomplete KYC FASTags will be deactivated by banks after January 31, regardless of balance. NHAI estimates that out of the 7 crore issued FASTags, around 4 crore are active, but compliance with KYC norms is unknown. NHAI urges users to keep only one tag per vehicle and warns that duplicate tags will be blacklisted from February. β€œFASTag is like the Aadhaar of a vehicle and hence we can’t allow more than one tag linked to a vehicle,” said an official.
