FASTags with incomplete KYC to be blacklisted after January 31
Monday, 15 January 2024 NHAI warns that all incomplete KYC FASTags will be deactivated by banks after January 31, regardless of balance. NHAI estimates that out of the 7 crore issued FASTags, around 4 crore are active, but compliance with KYC norms is unknown. NHAI urges users to keep only one tag per vehicle and warns that duplicate tags will be blacklisted from February. βFASTag is like the Aadhaar of a vehicle and hence we canβt allow more than one tag linked to a vehicle,β said an official.
India welcomes FY 2024-25, ushering in new rules from April 1, including reduced LPG cylinder prices and a revised tax regime. Taxpayers can now choose between old and new tax systems, while FASTag users must update KYC details to avoid disruptions. Meanwhile, essential medicines and car prices see marginal increases.
