The Lucknow division of the Northern Railway is set to unveil a 15-foot tall corten steel sculpture of a squirrel at the Ayodhya Dham junction. Inspired by the unsung heroes of the Ramayana, the sculpture symbolizes commitment and devotion. In the Yuddh Kand of Valmiki’s Ramayana, the squirrel's small contribution, picking pebbles for the construction of Ram Setu, is highlighted. The sculpture, reflecting the railway's dedication to nation-building, aims to convey a message of commitment and devotion similar to that of the squirrel in the epic. The corten steel-based sculpture, subject to weather changes, is designed to evoke an ancient monolithic feel over time, representing a blend of old and contemporary styles.
