In two districts of Tamil Nadu, tragic incidents unfolded during Jallikattu events organized as part of the extended Pongal celebrations, resulting in the goring deaths of three spectators, including a 13-year-old boy. In one location, Siravayal in Sivaganga, both the teenager and a man in his 30s lost their lives while watching bulls released into the Manjuvirattu arena. Following the fatal attacks, the bulls charged at the rest of the crowd, leading to a chaotic stampede that left over 100 spectators and participants injured.
