Government to doctors: Mention indication while prescribing antimicrobial

The Centre appeals to doctors and pharmacists in medical colleges to prescribe antimicrobials with exact indications. Medical associations and pharmacists' associations are also urged to implement drug rules. The misuse and overuse of antimicrobials, especially antibiotics, contribute to the emergence of drug-resistant organisms. Antimicrobial resistance leads to global deaths and treatment failures, making prudent antibiotic use crucial.
