Do away with seat-leaving bond, National Medical Commission tells states/UTs

National Medical Commission (NMC) urges states and UTs to eliminate the 'seat-leaving bond' policy in medical colleges. The policy mandates students to pay a hefty amount if they discontinue the course midway. NMC received complaints about the mental health challenges faced by PG medical students due to the inability to acclimatize to a new environment.
