EC mandates publisher identification on political hoardings amid complaints

Election Commission instructed all states and Union territories to guarantee that all print materials related to elections, such as hoardings, posters, and banners, prominently display the name and address of the printer and publisher. This directive aims to uphold accountability and transparency in election campaigns. In a letter addressed to the chief secretaries and chief electoral officers of all states and Union territories, the commission highlighted concerns raised through multiple representations.
