Uttarakhand college bars married girl’s entry to ‘save its environment’

A 19-year-old class XI student in Almora, identified as Simran, was denied permission to attend Anand Singh Government Girls' Inter College after her marriage due to policies against married students. The principal cited concerns about classroom disruption. However, the chief education officer clarified there were no rules barring married students and provisionally allowed her to attend classes.
