After Sanjauli, Mandi, demand for razing another HP mosque
Tuesday, 17 September 2024 Residents and organizations in Shimla are calling for the demolition of an allegedly illegal mosque in Kasumpti due to concerns about gatherings of unidentified non-locals. Former deputy mayor Rakesh Sharma led a delegation to submit a memorandum to the deputy commissioner. Similar protests over illegal mosques have occurred recently in Sanjauli and Mandi.
Civilians defence drills were carried out in several cities across India as tensions remain high with Pakistan. Sirens were sounded and blackouts observed in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Surat, Chandigarh, Shimla and others in a bid to prepare civilians for any possible threats in case a war breaks-out between India and Pakistan.
