Rs 3.6 crore project to revive village near India-China border abandoned since 1962 war

The Uttarakhand government has initiated a Rs 3.6 crore project to revive the abandoned village of Jadung in Uttarkashi, aiming to promote astro-tourism, trekking, and homestays. The project involves creating viewpoints, an entry gate, and a check post. Originally inhabited by the Jadh Bhotiya tribe, six houses are being converted into homestays using vernacular architecture.
