Gujarat Lion census 2025: In a first, CCTV cams to aid traditional methods

For the first time, the upcoming lion census in Gujarat will use CCTV surveillance along with traditional direct sighting methods. The Wildlife Institute of India is expected to participate, leveraging its expertise in wildlife censuses. This technological integration aims to improve accuracy, building on the significant 28.87% population increase recorded in 2020.
