Armed forces to get high altitude medicine research institute at Leh: DGAFMS

The armed forces medical services (AFMS) aim to modernize military hospitals and field medical units. Plans include upgrading field hospitals with modular facilities, training combatants in life-saving skills, and establishing a high-altitude medical research institute in Leh. They also focus on addressing health concerns of IAF fighter pilots and Navy submariners, and tackle doctor shortages with outreach programs.
