Wednesday, 5 March 2025 The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the construction of two ropeway projects, Sonprayag to Kedarnath (12.9 km) and Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib Ji (12.4 km) -- at a total cost of Rs 6,811 crore.
Bangladesh interim leader Muhammad Yunus claims he asked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to block Sheikh Hasina’s online speeches — but Modi refused, saying, “It’s social media, you can’t control it.”
Yunus, who now leads Bangladesh after Hasina’s ouster, made this revelation during a talk at Chatham House in London.
As Hasina continues to address the Bangladeshi public from India, tensions rise, with Yunus accusing her of stirring unrest.
Meanwhile, Yunus’ own anti-India remarks and outreach to China have alarmed New Delhi.
Is Bangladesh heading into deeper turmoil? And is India taking a firm stand on digital freedom?

Chopper Crash in Uttarakhand continues as yet another Kedarnath-bound chopper crash-lands near Badasu. This marks the fourth helicopter safety crisis on the Char Dham route in 30 days. The AW119 aircraft suffered a tail rotor failure and made an emergency landing on a road, narrowly avoiding a major disaster. Although no fatalities occurred, Chopper Crash in Uttarakhand raises serious questions about maintenance checks, pilot training, and aviation regulations in India’s high-altitude pilgrimage zones. Authorities are investigating the Chopper Crash in Uttarakhand, but the recurring nature of these accidents indicates a deepening helicopter safety crisis that can no longer be ignored. Experts urge immediate reforms to avert more tragedies.
