Tamil Nadu governor conduct showed lack of bonafides, difficult for us to repose trust: SC

IndiaTimes Saturday, 12 April 2025
The Supreme Court, invoking Article 142, declared ten Tamil Nadu bills as assented due to the Governor's lack of "bonafides" and disregard for court judgments. The court criticized the Governor's actions, emphasizing the need for deference to parliamentary democracy and the will of the people. It directed that the judgment be shared with all High Courts and Governors.
