Calcutta HC reverses RPF trooper's sacking over 'mutiny' FB post
Thursday, 17 April 2025 Calcutta HC overturned the dismissal of an RPF constable who allegedly praised a colleague for fatally shooting a senior officer during the 2018 Meghalaya elections and cautioned about a potential "mutiny" on Facebook.

Murshidabad in West Bengal witnessed violent clashes on April 14, 2025, resulting in three deaths linked to protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025. Oxfordshire's chief fire officer gives an emotional statement at the scene of a fire which claimed the lives of two firefighters and a member of the public at a former RAF base in Bicester. Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Chief Fire Officer Rob MacDougall says, “it is with a very heavy heart that we today report the loss of two of our firefighters. A member of the public has also sadly died in the incident.”
