‘Born in Maharashtra, must be named in Marathi’: Penguins now part of language row in Mumbai

A controversy surrounds the naming of penguin chicks at Mumbai's Byculla Zoo. BJP leaders are demanding Marathi names for the newborns. They oppose the current English names like Noddy, Tom, and Pingu. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has not responded to appeals. The chicks hatched in March to parents Popeye, Olive, Daisy and Donald.
