A pilgrimage, change of plans & a trek to death: Meghalaya honeymoon murder stuns nation
Tuesday, 10 June 2025 () Newlyweds Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam’s honeymoon turned tragic when Sonam allegedly plotted Raja’s murder in Meghalaya with her lover and three accomplices. After a temple visit and a stay in Nongriat, Raja was found dead in a gorge on June 2. His jewellery was missing, and a bloodstained machete was recovered. Sonam was arrested on June 9 in Uttar Pradesh. Police revealed she was in love with Raj Khushwaha, her father's employee.
