A study published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed an increase in heat-related deaths in England, with an estimated 4,507 deaths in 2022. The ONS cautioned that the data was experimental and advised against year-to-year comparisons. The study also revealed that the UK's 10 warmest years on record have all occurred in the 21st century.
