US sues Amazon.com for breaking antitrust law and harming consumers

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has filed an antitrust lawsuit against Amazon, accusing the online retailer of harming consumers through higher prices. The lawsuit, which includes 17 state attorneys general, follows a four-year investigation and similar legal actions against Google and Facebook. The FTC alleges that Amazon's actions prevent rivals and sellers from lowering prices, degrade quality, overcharge sellers, stifle innovation, and hinder fair competition.
