Trump backs longtime loyalist Jim Jordan for Speaker
Friday, 6 October 2023 Former US President Donald Trump has officially endorsed Ohio congressman Jim Jordan for the position of speaker in the House of Representatives. The vacancy came after the ouster of Kevin McCarthy. Jordan, a founding member of the hard-right House Freedom Caucus, is expected to succeed McCarthy after voting takes place next week. Trump expressed his support for Jordan on his social media platform, Truth Social.
