Funerals held in Syria for dozens of victims killed in deadliest attack in years

IndiaTimes Saturday, 7 October 2023
A drone attack on a military graduation ceremony in Homs, Syria, killed 89 people and injured hundreds, making it one of the deadliest attacks in the country in years. The attack is expected to escalate violence in the opposition-held northwest, which has been relatively calm since a Russia-Turkey ceasefire in 2020. Following the incident, Syrian government forces increased shelling and airstrikes on rebel-held areas, while insurgents retaliated.
