UN chief visits Egypt's Rafah crossing ahead of Gaza aid delivery
Friday, 20 October 2023 UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres visited the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza to oversee preparations for the delivery of aid to the war-torn enclave. Cargo planes and trucks have been bringing humanitarian aid to Rafah, but none has been delivered to Gaza yet. Guterres stated that they are actively engaging with all parties to ensure the aid trucks are able to move as soon as possible. The first aid delivery via the Rafah crossing is expected to take place in the next day or so.
