Judge threatens to hold Donald Trump in contempt after deleted post is found on campaign website
Friday, 20 October 2023 Judge Arthur Engoron, who is presiding over Donald Trump's civil fraud trial, threatened to hold the former president in contempt for violating a court order. Trump's disparaging social media post about a court staffer remained on his campaign website for weeks after the judge ordered it to be deleted. Engoron warned of possible fines or even jail time for Trump. The judge had issued a limited gag order, prohibiting personal attacks on court staff involved in the case.
