IndiaTimes Wednesday, 15 November 2023
Estonian prime minister Kaja Kallas has expressed her interest in becoming the next secretary general of Nato. Kallas, who has been a vocal supporter of Ukraine and a critic of Russia, made her statement during the Politico Defense Summit in Washington. Nato's current chief, Jens Stoltenberg, is set to step down in 2024. However, some Nato diplomats and experts have raised concerns about Kallas being too hawkish for the alliance. Kallas's popularity in Estonia has also been affected by revelations about her husband's business activities in Russia.
