More than 200 convicted in Italy's maxi-trial involving the 'ndrangheta crime syndicate

An Italian tribunal has convicted 207 people and sentenced them to a combined 2,100 years in prison for their involvement in the 'ndrangheta organized crime syndicate. The trial took place in a high-security bunker in the southern Calabria region, where the organization is based. The 'ndrangheta has also expanded its operations to North and South America, Africa, and Europe. The trial aimed to demonstrate the deep-rooted connections between the syndicate and various sectors of society.
