Kremlin says Nato's desire for a 'military Schengen' zone in Europe ratchets up tensions

IndiaTimes Friday, 24 November 2023
The Kremlin expressed concern over Nato's desire for a military analogue of the Schengen Zone in Europe, which would allow the alliance's armed forces to move freely. Lieutenant-General Alexander Sollfrank, chief of Nato's logistics command JSEC, highlighted the issue of red tape hindering troop movements. Peskov also criticized Europe for not listening to Russia's concerns and accused Nato of moving its military infrastructure towards Russia's border, leading to security measures in response.
