Chances of ceasefire fade as fighting rages across Gaza

IndiaTimes Monday, 11 December 2023
Heavy fighting continues in Gaza as Israel pushes forward with its offensive, despite international calls for a ceasefire. The US has blocked the latest international effort to end the fighting and has provided additional munitions to Israel. The death toll in Gaza has risen to about 18,000, with 49,500 injured. Palestinians are facing severe shortages of basic goods due to the difficulty of delivering aid. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warns of a worsening situation and the possibility of a mass displacement into Egypt.
