European Union backs rules to improve app workers' conditions

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 13 December 2023
The European Parliament and EU member states have reached a deal on a new law to strengthen conditions for platform workers, such as ride-hailing drivers. At least 5.5 million people in Europe may be wrongly classified as self-employed. It also promotes fair competition and provides better rights for the least protected workers.
