Indicted Sierra Leone ex-president Koroma flies to Nigeria

Sierra Leone's ex-president Ernest Bai Koroma left the country for Nigeria after being allowed to travel despite treason charges related to a failed military attempt. Concerns about his indictment and the 2023 election prompted the court's decision. Koroma's lawyers claim the charges are politically motivated. He was greeted by Nigerian officials and the president of ECOWAS upon his arrival.
