Sri Lanka boosts Colombo Port efficiency to address Red Sea emergency

On Monday, the Sri Lankan government announced its heightened efforts to boost operational efficiency at the Colombo Port to address the rising demand for container cargo operations prompted by the emergency situation in the Red Sea. The port has witnessed a significant surge in transhipment volumes since January, attributed to the redirection of ships in response to heightened attacks in the Red Sea.
