Trump goes to Supreme Court again seeking to delay prosecution for January 6 events

Former US President Donald Trump on Monday made a return to the US Supreme Court, seeking a stay on an appeals court decision allowing criminal prosecution for his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results. Trump's legal team, commencing their presentation with the phrase "This application is déjà vu all over again," contended that if a president can face criminal charges for actions during their term, it could lead to a rise in such prosecutions, creating destructive cycles of recrimination.
