My mission is to spark joy in the world through tidying.????((VO-Goodwill YT))??So much that, according to Fox Business, the senior director of PR at Goodwill Industries International directly attributes a growing number of contributions to the Japanese home organization guru’s advice!

The TODAY show notes that one Goodwill location in Washington, D.C.

Saw a 367 percent increase compared to the same time last year.????((VO-Donation Box))??But it turns out, a lot of the things people are donating aren’t useful, and many of the donations are causing headaches.????((VO-Going Through Home/Bricks))??So instead of bringing any old junk to your local thrift shop... sift through it first.

????According to Budget Dumpster, you should avoid donating anything that’s broken or need repair.

The site also suggests bringing building materials, like bricks to a local habitat for humanity instead of a place like Goodwill.????((VO-Makeup, Pens, Medicine))??Make the Best Everything suggests you throw away things like old makeup, pens, medicine and even expired baby items...the site notes that most donation centers don’t need those things.????((VO-Cash -LEt Go/Offer Up))??Also, if you do want to make some cash for some of your more valuable items you can look to apps like LetGo and Offer Up that allow you to sell unwanted things to people in your area.??
