US Denies Temporary Protective Immigration Status To People Evacuating The Bahamas
The U.S. denied temporary protected immigration status to people evacuating the Bahamas.
According to Reuters, they left after being hit by a Category 5 hurricane.
The status would have allowed them to live an work in the U.S. while their country recovers.
In the past, the U.S. granted temporary protection to those affected by wars and natural disasters.
But Trump said the Bahamas has “tremendous problems” and “very bad drug dealers.”
