A dad in dire straits after his hometown shops ran out of toilet roll received a helpful hand from a friend who sent him some using a drone.Hilarious sky footage shows father-of-two Russ Howey being sent the essential item across the town in Duns, Borders.Russ Howey, 38, appealed to friends living nearby to see if they could pop round some in the post.Fortunately pal Scott Cullen had some to spare and delivered two rolls to Russ's back garden.The delivery ensured the two Scots stuck to social distancing rules by not meeting in person.Russ, a former crane driver now on furlough, said: "I just happened to go to the local shops, and it happened there wasn't any rolls left.

I went to two or three shops, and I couldn't find anything."I was speaking to a friend on the phone, and he basically said he owns a drone and he literally lives on the other side of town."He was quite keen to solve the problem.

He put the two rolls on a string and flew it over."It was quite funny.

I did wonder what would happen if a few neighbours looked up at the sky to see toilet rolls flying past."He added: "It was just a panic.

We're all going to have to go, so what's plan B?"You don't want to be blocking toilets with kitchen roll.
