Matilda Jane donates 5,000 face masks to Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health

Devereux health care workers who help children with autism received a special surprise Friday afternoon from Matilda Jane Clothing in Fort Wayne.

A local fabric company stepped up to the plate and donated thousands of face masks to health care workers who help kids with autism.

Matilda jane makes cute kids clothes year round in fort wayne.

But today, they made a delivery that might save lives, shipping five thousand masks to devereux advanced behavioral health in pennsylvania.

Devereaux assists children with autism which has become a challenge with the covid-19 pandemic.

The fact that they stepped up and helped us at this time of need is incredible because it helps staff feel safe."

This is no different.

When we saw the opportunity, we thought...we have a lot of fabric of course."

The masks are just the latest contribution by the fort wayne company.

In march it started donating face mask kits to its work partners, trunk keepers.

Madeline jane//matilda jane head of design "we might be able to help them out by donating some fabric to them make these masks and provide them to health care providers in their own specific neighborhoods and so of course we were happy to oblige."

Trunk keepers sewed protective masks for healthcare workers.

But then, matilda jane took it a step further leading to today's delivery.

Madeline jane//matilda jane head of design "we were able to not only sell some at no profit to our customer base but we were also able to produce the same amount, 5,000, and donate it to the devereux foundation."
