Worst Job Market Since The Great Depression

2020 college graduates are ready to land a job, but the job market is not ready for them.

Any 2020 college graduates are ready to land a job... but the job market?

Is*not ready for them.

Kimt news 3's annalise johnson is breaking down the job outlook for new grads.

She joins us live.

Annalise.

Here at university of minnesota rochester and colleges across the country?

4 million graduates are now entering the worst job market we've seen since the great depression.

According to the bureau of labor statistics?

National unemployment is nearly 15%... 25% is america's record low from the 1930's.

But the outlook is even worse for people just now leaving college... the rate rises to more than 25% for people ages 2?24.

I spoke to some new university of minnesota mankato grads who are feeling frustrated with job searching... they say they keep sending in job applications?

But aren't even getting rejection letters.

Its silence on employers ends.

No one's taking down their applications and saying that theyre no longer accepting them or no longer looking anymore, so we just don't really know the outcome of where our applications are really going these new grads tell me they're widening their job search to include jobs they wouldn't have considered before the pandemic.

They're hoping they can find some form of unemployment to tide them over and pay the bills while they wait for their dream jobs to start hiring again.

Live in rocheste?

Annalise johnson thank you annalise.

The federal reserve estimates it's possible we could eventually see a 2?25% national unemployment during the pandemic's peak.
