'Open for engagement...': India after Nepal delays amendment for new map

India said that it attaches great importance to its relations with Nepal amid map row.

India added that it is open for engagement with neighbours in an environment of trust and confidence.

MEA Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava informed that in recent years, relations between India and Nepal have been on an upward trajectory.

On the recent boundary issue, India continue to monitor situation in Nepal, he added.

The remarks came after Nepal parliament put on hold its plan of taking up constitutional amendment for a new Nepal map.

The recently released new map, which includes Indian territories of Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulekh, can get legal backing in Nepal only after the constitution is amended.
